The different types of franchise opportunities available with us, are listed below:

Model Franchisee

Model Franchisees operate in a particular pin-code and are responsible for the development of the business and serving the customers. These Franchisees do both bookings and deliveries within their territory.

Enterprise Franchisee

 These Franchisees will be aligned to carry out business/pick-ups for enterprise or corporate clients.

Delivery Franchisee

A delivery Franchisee is completely focused on receiving FDM from the branch and delivering consignments to customers in its assigned pin code. These Franchisees will not be involved in carrying out bookings.

Background & History

Since its inception in 1990 with the path breaking franchise model to the triumphant journey of 31 glorious years , DTDC has always been a front-runner in the journey to "change the rules of the game" in the industry. Mr. Subhasish Chakraborty, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of DTDC pioneered DTDC’s unique franchise-based business model that has facilitated the creation of the organization’s formidable reach in India, as well as cultivated entrepreneurship opportunities for its partners.

Today, DTDC boasts of 570+ operating facilities, 1550+ GPS connected trucks,12+ automated hubs with dynamic sorting and >1 Mn. Sq. ft. warehousing space, that provides the infrastructure for deliveries to 11400+ pin codes in India and access to a network that allows customers to reach more than 220 locations worldwide.

Training and Development

As soon as a franchisee joins, he/she undergoes an induction program, where he/she is given an overview of all the facets of running a franchise.

DTDC also organizes training on various operational subjects for the franchisee's field staff through its branch offices. Periodic product training and knowledge sharing is encouraged through one-on-one interaction, meetings and online modules. Franchisees can also access the latest information through the franchisee portal.

At DTDC we believe in continuous training and development throughout the life cycle of the franchisee (Channel Partner).

The genesis and evolution of FAB

Since its inception, DTDC has always focused on the development of franchisees and that remains its biggest strength till date. In our journey spanning 3 decades, our management has worked with firm belief on principles of transparency and honest business ethics to drive consistent growth of its franchisees. Our values have laid the foundation of our collaborative success with our franchisees and we are proud of the exemplary bond of trust that we share with them.

Our trust in the principle of “Management by Participation” has, over the years, led to a revolutionary decision in 2009 when the Board of Directors formed the Franchise Advisory Board (FAB).The Franchisee Advisory Board consists of a chosen set of franchisees-who represent the ethos of the vast geography that we cover, and represent different branches/cluster and regions.

This year, as we celebrate 30 years of Delivering Value to our stakeholders, we would like to re-affirm our belief and confidence in our franchisees. With changing business environment, the role of the FAB members has also evolved manifold. They have a bigger role to play as ‘eyes and ears’ of DTDC in the field, as the interface between the organization and the thousands of franchisees spread across the length and breadth of the country on one hand, and DTDC and its millions of customers on the other. They play the vital role in ensuring that the benefits of our cutting edge technology and ever improving service delivery reach the end consumer.
